Utterly disturbing behavior from some of our troops abroad.  This is clearly not a fair representation of all our troops.  But like we've read of the atrocities that occurred during Vietnam, one can only imagine the heightened level of unspeakable things happening to innocent people in this modern era.  This is what happens when inadequate soldiers (one's that would likely be passed up by the army if enlistment numbers were higher) are frustrated by failure to a point where their racist, psychotic, and savage selves come spilling out.

Here he is again... his name was Gul Mudin. He was an innocent farmer in a small remote village of straw and mud homes. He posed absolutely no threat to the soldiers. He was unarmed. An elderly man in the village was escorted to the field to identify the boy.. the man turned out to be the boys father.

I mean, we already knew this, but this sack of shit has also dropped out of highschool, quit his electrician apprenticeship when someone pointed out he needs a HS Diploma, and he just quit his questionably obtained job in Alaska's oil fields. History always goes ultimately unappreciated by those who observe it.

We witnessed history last night. The kind of history that will be written about and taught to children in school for years to come. The kind of history that like some things will never ever ever be forgotten. I know and appreciate this as well as many other people around the world do.

However, I've realized in speaking to many people around my work and home that human beings are genuinely evil. I've heard comments of the election being "nigger rigged" and January 20th is the day of Obama's "iniggeration" into the presidency. Republicans blaming Bush and not their out right loss of morals and lack of respect for humanity for their loss of control. Also, the comments of there being "hood" picnics at the White House and hot wings on the menu are just plain stupid... seriously. I understand many americans don't like a president who is smarter than they are, more talented, and all around just plain better (especially if that president is not of the same ethnic background). I understand that the sick obsessed like nature some people call patriotism is clouding the judgement of right and wrong, but you've got to be fucking kidding me.

I'll tell you what patriotism is. It's sacrifice, it's the common good, it's the love of your country, and if you love your country you want what's best for it. If you want what's best for your country than you understand how to accept the fact you may be wrong and then take steps to further improve yourself. The constitution reads "form a more perfect union." How can you do that when you always consider yourself to be right?

The people who call themselves patriots and at the same time refuse to acknowledge we are bleeding our country's resources dry to an ill advised war, headed by an ill advised president, who managed to also destroy our economy with over the top spending and effectively fail at avenging the attacks of 911 are the true cancer in this country. They are also the coal shovelers fueling the flames of racism and further dividing our country (and to be fair, neither side of this are helping the situation as far as racism goes).

You can say what you want, but our country is still massively divided. Just because we can all piss in the same toilet doesn't mean this is fixed. The city I live in is filled with closet racists who succeed at teaching their children to behave in the same idiotic manner forever posioning what little chance we have of forming a closer to perfect society. However, like I said earlier, the other side of this problem are part of the problem as well. It takes understanding, tolerance, and maturity to deal with this, and unfortunately most people lack all of these traits where they really need it.

My point is that it's sad people can't grow up and embrace the future and attempt to leave our children in a better world. The only way we can advance as a society is to educate ourselves and help educate others (that's right people, America isn't all about individualism). Finally, to put the icing on the cake, if you want to blame someone or something for the racism and prejudice and lack of respect we have for other people in this world you can do that. It's called religion. Grow the fuck up.

Kick Yourself For Supporting McCain - Seriously

With the mild rumors that the McCain campaign was fueling racism towards Obama and the obvious bigotry displayed at McCain rallies by attendees (I know there's going to be idiots wherever you go, but there has not been an effort my McCain's camp to derail the spread of this crap until recently). I'm not surprised that John McCain played into this clearly bigoted woman's plot to tarnish Obama's name.

Her name is Ashley Todd, and she claimed to have been mugged by black men who carved a "B" into her cheek while telling her she is going to be an Obama supporter whether she likes it or not. She later retracted these statements (thankfully). So what does McCain have to do with this? His campaign released a statement before Todd retracted her story that he and Palin “spoke to the victim and her family after learning about the incident.” Now, if you think the political strategists in the McCain campaign weren't licking their chops when they heard about this story you are in denial or being ignorant. Whether they want to admit it or not, it would be their dream to use racism and fear to beat Obama this November. I'm sure they'd lose no sleep preaching the reasons why America is so great at the same time either.

This upsets me more than any un-american inbred fuck yelling "lynch obama!" at a rally. For this reason: People aren't dumb enough to take the inbred fuck seriously. However, people are dumb enough to hear the story of Ashley Todd and fear for what the country could become if Obama and his anarchist black mugging friends were to run this nation. If she really was mugged and suffered in any way - I believe she deserved it and should've suffered more.

McCain, STOP LYING!

I was lucky enough to catch the two new TV ads from both Obama and McCain camps this morning. As you can guess, one is lying and one is at least accurate. Now, before you write me off as a "fuhkin libral" let me announce I don't fully endorse Obama and I don't think McCain is all that bad (I just wish me had a spine).

Problem with the McCain ad is that is states Franklin Raines, former CEO of the now collapsed Fannie Mae, is advising Obama on Economics. This isn't true. Nothing more to say. It's a lie. The video is below.



Now, the Obama ad states the fact that John McCain has voted to privatize social security and is quoted to be in support of Bush's plan to cut benefits in half among other things that will make social security more of a problem in America. These are facts while McCain's ad WAS speculation and NOW is clearly false.

My Perennial Waste of Time With Political Debates: Obama Vs Clinton

The first ten responses that came from my mouth during the opening questions of the political debate between Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton were simply “so what?” It seems we’ve lost touch with what the point of an actual debate between candidates for the presidency should be about. Instead, we get what looks to me a gossip report you can find daily on the E! Channel. Americans need to stop asking themselves, “Which candidate do I relate to and understands me?” and start asking themselves “Which candidate is going to get the job done, the right way, and spare America as well as parts of the world this ongoing suffering.” This presidential candidate debate between Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton left me not only with nothing new to ponder, but also feeling as though America is incapable of moving forward in a progressive manner and ridding ourselves of the propaganda that has long plagued our country.

Allow me to remind people that the major issues at play for our world is not gun control, religion, soccer moms, bible thumpers, pro-lifers, pro-choicers, homosexuals, and terrorism. What is plaguing our country is the collapse of the infrastructure, our debt and now dependence on China, Americans losing jobs and not having the gas money to go out looking for new ones, the veterans pay that’s going to take place over the next forty years (or should I say 140 years if McCain has anything to say about it) when the war in Iraq finally ends, the social security of today’s senior citizens who paid good money to be taken care of in the future, the children and adults dying because of a lack in health care, the rising poverty rate of children in America, the staggering poverty rate of Africa, Bangladesh and Haiti among others, our decreasing food supply, global warming, fossil fuel dependency, racism (let’s not forget it still exists), the pitiful homophobia of our “glorious” major religions, and finally who’s the right president to turn these things around?

It baffles me that news media claims the people of America decide who they’re going to vote for by asking themselves, “Is this guy like me? Can I have a beer with this candidate? Do they understand who I am as an American?” If this is the case and the media is correct than why aren’t they pressing the real questions you should be asking yourselves (see the list of issues I listed above)? The fact that JFK won the vote partially because female voters liked his personality and thought he was cute is nothing JFK nor America should be proud of! Let me break something to you – these presidential candidates are NOTHING LIKE YOU! They don’t want to have a beer with you, and if they could they wouldn’t be spending all this money campaigning and talking to you. What they are here to do is run this country so me and you can sit back, buy things we don’t need, be oblivious to real issues (Heidi and Spencer versus Lauren Conrad doesn’t count), watch MTV and get drunk on the weekends. And hey, it worked for a long time and it’s still mildly working now accept for the fact that Americans are getting booted out of their ignorant plush lifestyles and facing reality.

So, what we do need is that candidate that will help rebuild America’s infrastructure and create opportunity to gain wealth for the middle, working, and poor classes of citizens. A candidate that will stop sending young Americans off to die, and attempt to repair our ruined reputation with the rest of the world. A candidate that’s willing to step up to corporations exploiting the poverty stricken nations with slavery wages and work to lessen our dependency on China. A candidate who realizes that not all people want to be like us and that democracy doesn’t work wherever you want it to. It doesn’t matter how much you believe in democracy and God; not everyone wants to be you! Get over yourself America!

Coming back to the debate let’s run through what was talked about. The debate began with discussion about Obama’s remarks regarding Pennsylvanians being “bitter” and “clinging to their Bibles and guns”. I simply ask the question: Where is the relevance? I personally don’t believe that Obama had to retract this statements and I can’t believe that it is still relevant to the presidential election. We are trying to pick a president here not a beauty queen pageant winner! They wasted a good eight minutes without bringing up a single solution to the problems facing many small town, rural Pennsylvanians which is job loss and increasing poverty. On top of that, you have reporters and analysts sitting in New York, DC, and LA stating that rural Pennsylvanians must be outraged when the closest they’ve ever gotten to a small town, rural American is passing them by on a road trip. If anything, these people must be agreeing with Obama that yes we are bitter, and all we’ve got are our bibles and guns now that the system has screwed us out of everything else! And for those who rely on bigotry, religion, and the farce accusations that the Democrats are going to take your gun away, can you please go and die off so we can evolve as a society?

Next, they brought up Obama’s former Pastor – yet another distraction to what’s really important! This man is not related to Obama, he’s not a member of Obama’s campaign team, and he’s not a prospective running mate of Obama either. So tell me, how does it matter to the presidential election? It’s already bad enough religion has as much influence as it does in politics and government, but for the media, McCain, and Hillary to keep coming back to these kinds of things of no importance is not only annoying but pathetic to think these our leaders and the main information distributors of our country. If one is to argue that Obama’s pastor is important allow me to lay this on you: When a priest of any random catholic church is caught molesting the choir boys in the confessional booth, does that make those members of that church child molesters? If Obama is an American hater because his reverend is portrayed to be, then we sure have a lot of child molesters running around free here in America.

The next “critical” topic that was brought up was Hillary’s “misuse of words” when she claimed to have been under sniper fire in Bosnia. Again, if the American media and people were more interested in what really matters in saving this country from collapse then she wouldn’t have to do what every politician does and that’s lie. Again, I look for relevance – it’s not there. I look for how this can further my understanding of the candidates and allow me to make a more informed decision and – it’s not there.

Needless to say, this debate was just another fruitless waste of airtime when ABC could’ve aired something America seems to have more interest in, like Deal or No Deal! It seems if you want to make a truly informed decision you can’t rely on the mass media, television stations, or the candidates themselves to spoon feed it to you. You simply have to dig deeper and read, yes America, read! I know it’s sounds crazy since we do live in the era of you tube and on demand cable, but reading about these candidates decisions while serving in the senate, seeing where their endorsements have gone in the past, and basically observing their actions and muting the bullsh%t coming from their mouths is the only way you will be able to make an informed, intelligent and satisfying decision in this years election. Let’s remember, we asked ourselves four years ago who’d we like to have a beer with and look how well that worked out.

My Reflection on the Michigan Primary/Election in General and the International Auto Show already in progress

It's a couple weeks after the Michigan primary and while most media attention considers this long dead and gone I still had to voice my own opinion being that I live here and I saw it first hand. I can't help but sense more than a few Michiganders are feeling a bit left out this election. I mean, the Dems didn't campaign here!! I also believe that some republicans have to be a bit disappointed in this as well. However, only a few republicans I'd imagine.
I put on my best bible toting, gay hating, contradictory face on and was well received by the republican faithful at a few rallies held by McCain and Romney. I had made it a point to see Romney twice since he is a former Michigander.
If you live in Michigan or have relatives that live here, more than not you already know that our economy isn't all that great. Now, you still got those people who are doing more than alright here and will tell you that we're not doing that bad (these people are typically the ones who claim the housing market is great and we're winning the war on terror). Either way, I was attending these republican rallies to see what issues these candidates were going to raise in relevance to my state. McCain and Romney, the only candidates I saw were fairly similar in presentation, however, McCain had a outsider type of feel to him even though I felt his message was more genuine. We're not getting most of those lost jobs in the auto industry back, contrary to Romney's empty promises that they will return. In the event they do return, the people who lost them will more than likely be under-qualified to handle the new positions.
What troubled me about these two candidates and most of what I heard during the Michigan primary was that they spoke a lot about the auto industry and not much at all about Michigan as a state. Almost to say, that if we never had the auto industry we wouldn't be a worthy state to campaign in.
As for the Democrats, you guys need to realize something quite vital. Michigan is a strong Democratic state and no Dem Administration has won the white house without winning Michigan as well. I'm pretty sure you'll be more than welcoming our delegates at the convention.
My stance is undecided. It will stay that way until someone restores my faith in the system. I'll probably vote Democratic, but may vote McCain or Romney depending on how I feel about them later in the year.

But enough of the inevitable! Let's take a look at something more uplifting! The Auto Show is in town!

I haven't gone yet, I know,I can hardly wait. So, instead of telling you how it is I'm going to inform people of the crisis facing Detroit and it's hold on the auto industry.
Mild rumors suggest that companies like Toyota and BMW will be focusing more debuts and money into other shows where buyers aren't out numbered by reporters as is the case in Detroit. This is bad news for the biggest car show in the world. Cobo Hall is in need of renovation and possible expansion seeing as there will be more and more foreign auto makers coming from India and China every year. Detroit as you can already imagine is losing it's grasp as auto capital of the world.
Believe it or not D-Town dwellers, but people from all over the world tour Detroit and Dearborn as well as other historic sites affiliated with the auto industry year round. Sites we drive by in and take for granted are often thought about the way we may think about dining atop the Eiffel Tower.

While all hope seems lost, Detroit is on the verge of very exciting things.

- As always the case, the music scene here is kicking arse (now, we only need to get Detroit to figure that out).
- Wayne State University is doing break through tissue research right on the downtown campus and we have facilities sporting state of the art medical equipment.
- Google, Rock Financial and other companies are more than likely going to establish offices in the city and bring in more jobs.
- If you haven't noticed, there are exceptional condos and apartments going up around the city.
- The Super Bowl and World Series were great successes and brought lots of positive attention and money into the city.
- The Red Wings will do the same if they keep up the winning and bring another Stanley in town.
- The new Cadillac building will feature brand new office space for companies and prime ground level real estate for retailers and restaurants .

While this all sounds good we as citizens cannot just sit back and wait for the great city that Detroit can be. Here are some things all Michigan citizens, living in Detroit and not, can do to ensure a successful future for our great city:

- Spend some time enjoying the nightlife downtown and spend a little money.
- Pop in for a show at the Detroit Opera House or check out the Detroit Symphony Orchestra
- SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC! Whether it's Hip Hop, Rock, or Acoustic Folk. We have a great pool of talent. Look at our major successes.
- Voice your opinion to the government. Write letters and make phone calls stating your concerns and what you want done for the city.
- Stop thinking about what directly affects you! This isn't about you, it's about the city as a whole. There isn't a successful society on the planet that operated individually. The collective will move mountains.
- If your neighborhood is struggling, organizing a clean up campaign is easier than you think and will bring positive energy to your community. Think, the Broken Windows Theory. If you don't know what I'm talking about then Google/Yahoo it. It worked for New York in the 70's.

I'm not going to run a full list for you but you can surely come up with other ideas based on what you see from a day to day business. Let's make a difference. Please.
